Privacy Policy
We believe in transparency. Here's exactly what data we collect and how we use it.
Table of Contents
1. Information We Collect
Pi(c)xel Vault is designed to collect as little data as possible. Here's exactly what we store:
Information you provide directly:
- Contact form submissions — your name, email, subject, and message when you contact us
Information collected automatically:
- Like counts — anonymous total count of likes per wallpaper (no personal data attached)
- Download counts — anonymous total count of downloads per wallpaper (no personal data attached)
- Theme preference — your light/dark mode choice (stored only on your device)
- Liked wallpapers — which wallpapers you liked (stored only on your device)
Information we DO NOT collect:
- Your real name or identity
- Your IP address
- Your location
- Your browsing history
- Device fingerprints
- Any tracking cookies
- Any analytics or telemetry data
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect for these purposes only:
- Contact form messages — to respond to your questions, bug reports, or wallpaper submissions
- Like & download counts — to display popularity indicators on wallpaper cards for all users
- Theme preference — to remember your dark/light mode choice between visits
3. Local Storage & Cookies
Pi(c)xel Vault does not use cookies for tracking. We use your browser's local storage to save two things:
- pv-theme — stores "light" or "dark" to remember your theme preference
- pv-liked — stores a list of wallpaper IDs you've liked so hearts stay red when you return
How to clear your local storage:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Check "Cookies and other site data"
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy → Clear Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
4. Firebase & Data Storage
We use Google Firebase Realtime Database to store:
- Wallpaper like counts — a single number per wallpaper (e.g., "likes: 42"). No personal data is attached to likes.
- Wallpaper download counts — a single number per wallpaper (e.g., "downloads: 128"). No personal data is attached.
- Contact form messages — name, email, subject, message, and timestamp that you provide voluntarily through our contact form.
Firebase is operated by Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Our database has strict security rules that prevent unauthorized access to data.
5. Third-Party Services
Pi(c)xel Vault uses the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare Pages — hosts our website. Cloudflare may collect basic server logs (IP addresses) as part of their service. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase — stores like/download counts and contact messages. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Google Drive — hosts wallpaper images. Images are served through Google's content delivery network.
- Google Fonts / Font Awesome — provides icons used on the website. These are loaded from external CDNs.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or tracking services.
6. Supabase Images
Our wallpaper images are hosted on Supabase and served through Supabase's content delivery network.
When you view or download a wallpaper, your browser connects directly to Google's servers. This connection is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We have no control over what data Google may collect during this process.
